Meet Linsey

Linsey Hunt, therapist in WA

Hello, WA! I’m Linsey.

  • I’m so lucky to work with the best clients! People who seek out therapy with me tend to be curious, insightful, passionate about their interests, and like using humor in the therapy room. You’re invested in learning more about yourself, managing stress in school or your career, improving your mental health, and building on your relationships.

I also love working with families or groups of teens and adults. My family clients find that I am a good bridge between different generations. You may be navigating a new conflict, working through past hurts, or just trying to improve communication and understanding.

My clients come from many walks of life. I am committed to equitable practice that honors your race, ethnicity, culture, religion, sex, age, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, relationship status and configuration, physical needs, and neurodivergence.

  • I’m an inquisitive, playful, and warm person, and those traits come with me into the therapy room! I will be direct and sometimes challenge you with hard questions, but never unkindly. I can’t help but to be my authentic self. My hope is that this helps you feel comfortable bringing your whole self to our work together.

We will process the stories you, your family, or society have told you about how to live your life, and together we can rewrite those stories to forge a new path. We will also examine how other forces (culture, socioeconomic factors, race, sexual orientation, religion, health) affect our lived experiences. I believe that all people have the capacity to change, and I am privileged to walk alongside you on your path.

  • My personal and professional experience has revolved around making connections with others, analyzing stories, and solving problems. I love to always be learning, especially about my clients.

Outside of therapy, I’m passionate about reading, playing video games, and watching too much reality television. I also love travel and seeing more of the beautiful PNW. I am a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, an ADHDer, a Seattle transplant, a partner, a singer, a swimmer, a lifelong student, and have many more identities just like my clients!

  • I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate (LMFTA) and a graduate of Seattle Pacific University’s Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy. I completed my clinical internship at Larch Counseling in North Bend, WA, and I externed at the Swedish Cancer Institute in Seattle. Previously, I studied history, earning my Bachelor’s from Boston University and my Master’s in Medieval History from the University of York, UK.

Prior to attending SPU, I spent many years in the tech industry, and most recently I worked as a product manager. I also have experience in the healthcare field. Across these different professions, I have always loved learning people’s stories. I look forward to getting to know each person that enters my therapy room.

  • My LMFTA license number is #MG61326536.

I am currently under supervision by a licensed clinical supervisor.

I am a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) as well as the Washington state chapter of this organization (WAMFT).
